Free H1N1 Infant Clinic

Free H1N1 shots for infants and children 6 months through 35 months of age only will be held on November 17 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Medina County Health Department.

H1N1 Nasal Spray will also be available for healthy children 2 years through 35 months of age. The Medina County Health Department is located at 4800 Ledgewood Drive, Medina. Seasonal flu vaccine will not be available at this clinic.

Parents should bring a completed consent form for each infant or child receiving an H1N1 vaccine. The consent form is available at www.medinahealth.org. We encourage everyone to pre-register for the H1N1 clinic at www.odh.ohio.gov, but pre-registration is not required. Consent forms will also be available at the clinic. Completing a consent form or pre-registration does not guarantee vaccination.

At the clinic, qualified medical staff will medically screen infants and children 6 months through 35 months of age for the correct H1N1 vaccine. Due to very limited supply, we regret we cannot offer injectable (shots) vaccine based on personal preference. Nasal "spray" vaccine is a safe and effective way of protecting children from the H1N1 virus, if children medically qualify for the spray form. We appreciate your patience as we try to vaccinate as many people as possible with the limited vaccine provided to us.

H1N1 flu clinics are based on vaccine availability and are subject to change or cancellation. Check our website at www.medinahealth.org for cancellations. H1N1 flu clinics are first come, first served, and are based on the priority groups established by the Ohio Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

For information about the H1N1 influenza or the H1N1 vaccine, go to www.medinahealth.org, www.flu.gov, or www.fda.gov. For more information about the Medina County Health Department call us at 330-721-4380, toll-free at 1-888-723-9688, or visit our website at www.medinahealth.org.
