The American Cancer Society (ACS) is sponsoring the 34th annual Great American Smokeout on November 19

Thursday, November 19 is the 34th Annual Great American Smokeout, a day sponsored by the American Cancer Society to help people stop using tobacco. If you're a smoker and you would like some help quitting, there is a toll-free number you can call to get started. Just dial 1-800-934-4840 to talk with a trained "Quit Coach" who will give you tips and techniques to help you quit smoking, and send you materials in the mail if you provide a mailing address. This service is completely confidential. Again, that number is 1-800-934-4840. If you've been thinking about quitting, we hope you give this number a call.

Good luck!

- Although this effort is focused around the Nov. 19 Great American Smokeout event, the Quit Lines are available year-round.
