Free health care weekend rescheduled in Cleveland

CLEVELAND: A free health care event scrapped in early May because of swine flu concerns has been rescheduled for later this month in Cleveland.

Doctors, nurses, dentists and various specialists will provide their services to the uninsured and underinsured at no charge on July 25 and 26 in the city's University Circle area.

Patients will need to call to schedule a timed appointment at either of two locations.

Medical professionals had originally planned to hold a free health care festival at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds during the first weekend in May. But that was when swine flu worries were rising, and state health officials said it probably wasn't a good idea to bring together thousands of people, including many with health problems.
